Describe your neighborhood or a neighborhood you once lived in. Explain what it looks like, where it is located, and what the people in it are like. What are their attitudes and fears? What do you think about growing up there? Again, be descriptive and imaginative. Use words that paint a picture rather than just telling the reader what it looks like. Graded on: 1. Length (2-4 paragraphs) 2. Conventions (punctuation, etc.) 3. Complete sentences; no run-on sentences 4. Use of descriptive words 5. Solid ideas; solid thoughts |

Sept 13: Ethos, Pathos, Logos
Blog: Write 3-5 paragraphs using ethos, pathos, and logos. You need to use these to persuade your parents to take away your curfew. (If you don't have a curfew, pretend like your curfew is 10:00pm.) Sept 14: Ethos, Pathos, Logos Partner Blog Directions/Steps: 1. Together, you will come up with three examples of each Ethos, Pathos, and Logos, that you see or have seen in your daily life. (Total, you will have nine different examples.) 2: After each example, please write one sentence explaining why the example is ethos, pathos, or logos. Example Entry: Example: I see PATHOS everyday when my dog comes up to me and nudges my leg. He typically wants me to pet him or feed him. His big, loving eyes and tiny whimper persuade me every time to give in to what he wants. I can't say "no" to that face! Explanation: This is PATHOS because I love my dog and he knows when he comes to nudge me that my love for him kicks in and I give into whatever he wants.
